Sara is the founder of S. Porter Restoration & Conservation LLC. She has traveled the globe studying the world of materials and techniques from her studio in NYC to Africa to Japan. For over 25 years, her insistence on using only traditional materials has made her a favorite of art and antique dealers, interior designers, private collectors and museums. Preserving the decorative arts is priceless to her. Sara has worked on every surface imaginable including painted furniture, English and Asian lacquer, chinoiserie, japanning, french polish, gilding and sculpture. She is widely known for her ability to perfectly match color on pieces dating from the 20th Century as far back as 200 BC.
