Dale Simpson Jr Found

Dale Simpson, Jr.

Dale is an archaeologist who approaches every investigation with intensity and an open mind. His primary area of expertise is the islands of the Pacific, especially Polynesian, and he has vast experience with North and South American artifacts. Currently working on his Ph.D. on Easter Island where he is analyzing ancient cultural tools used to make the moai, or statues, Dale is eager to shed light on the accomplishments of one of the world’s most misunderstood societies.

Locals on Easter Island have nicknamed him “tangata merite ma’a ma’ a,” meaning the “crazy American.” Dale brings a fun and lighter side to the Found team with his crazy antics and humorous quips. People that send in artifacts appreciate his enthusiasm for both their objects and their stories. It’s that same appreciation for the truth about our past that makes him a valuable contributor to Found.
