About
Marcus Robinson’s inspiring documentary chronicles the reconstruction of the World Trade Center and restoration of the New York City skyline. Eight years in the making, this special focuses on the construction workers who performed the Herculean task. They were the men and women who did the heavy lifting once the dream to rebuild was set into motion on the 16-acre site that witnessed the worst terrorist attack on American soil. Robinson, an Irish artist and filmmaker renowned for architectural and industrial photography, arrived on the site in 2006, five years after the original World Trade Center was destroyed in the September 11 attacks. He placed 13 cameras throughout the site to document eight years of progress with stunning time-lapse imagery, and shadowed workers every step of the way as they turned a pile of ashes into a towering testament to imagination and resilience.
